Lena Blou

Since her encounter with Jacqueline Cachemire-Thole, founder of AKADEMIDUKA (Gwo-ka school), Lena Blou had set her heart into Gwo-ka. She obtained a D.E.U.G in Dance (2 year University Course) as well as a  Diploma of Choreographic Interpretation in Jazz at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She participates to many workshops involving all techniques of Gwo-Ka in Europe, the United States and in the Caribbean. Cornerstone of Gwo-Ka dance, she founded, the Center of Dance and Choregraphic Studies (CDEC) in 1990, located in the « Assainissement » district in Pointe à Pitre, Guadeloupe.

In 2005 she published « Techni’ka », a teaching method based on Gwo-ka dance traditions. In 2010, she creates the Techni’ka Training Center (CFTK). The objective is to offer, for the first time in the French Caribbean, a professional dance curriculum with Techni’ka and Caribbean Techniques as basic training techniques.
In 2008, Lena Blou was honored « Chevalier de la legion d’honneur ».
